Resin Bed Replacement in Poneto, IN

Resin Bed Replacement in Poneto, IN

Resin bed replacement in Poneto, IN brings a tired softener back without buying a whole new system. Softener resin is a bed of small plastic beads that swap hardness for sodium. Over time, chlorine in city water breaks the beads down and iron coats them, and the bed slowly loses capacity.

The signs are easy to miss at first. The softener still regenerates on schedule and still uses salt, but hard water shows up between regenerations. Sometimes you'll find tan or amber beads in a faucet aerator, which tells us the distributor or the beads themselves have failed.

Poneto, IN Water Softener Installation handles a rebed like this:

• Bypass and depressurize the system
• Remove the control valve and siphon out the old resin
• Inspect the riser tube and bottom distributor basket
• Add new gravel underbed if your tank uses one
• Fill with fresh high-capacity cation resin
• Reinstall the valve and run a full regeneration

We test hardness after the first cycle to confirm the bed is holding. On chlorinated supplies, we may suggest a fine-mesh or chlorine-resistant resin so the new bed lasts longer.
